Barrington police officers arrested two young men from this town and responded to more than a dozen other incidents from Monday morning to Friday morning, May 23 to 27. The arrests were for domestic vandalism and drunk driving.

Monday, May 23

A Rhode Island Country Club caddie reported his bicycle stolen while he was working at the club. It was a silver Diamondback.

Tuesday, May 24

A postal carrier called police after he noticed a vacant house with a broken window on Hazelton Road. A neighbor who has been cutting the grass told police that the window was not broken over the weekend.

A 22-year-old was charged with domestic vandalism after officers were called to 5 Juniper St. According to his mother, Clay Lawton had been verbally angry, but was not violent toward her. Officers observed a smashed mailbox about 20 feet from its post and a wooden chair smashed to pieces inside the house.

Someone crawled through a basement window in the 700 block of South Harvey Avenue, Oct. 23-25, and removed 70 feet of tubing, a green Diamondback bicycle, a Samsonite suitcase and various yard tools. Estimated loss is $690.
